Sarson Da Saag and Makki di roti is an evergreen, classic combo that is loved by everyone. The classic Punjabi dish is best when served with some white butter; jaggery or honey.     How to make Makki ki roti and sarson ka saag at home

    Step 1

    Wash and roughly mustard leaves, wash thoroughly, Boil in a deep bottomed pot till completely done by adding turmeric pd, crushed garlic & green chili. To this, add a bit of Makki ka atta, blend it thoroughly to make a smooth paste.

    Step 2

    Heat oil and add chopped onions, garlic paste, chopped ginger chopped green chili, Chilli powder, cook well. Then this add pureed greens, cook well on low flame for 2-3 mins. Check the seasonings. Add a tempering of chopped garlic on top.

    Step 3

    Prepare soft dough using Makki ki atta, salt as needed & water. Then divide them into smaller portions, start rolling in medium round size by not rolling too thin.

    Step 4

    Heat tawa, add ghee, place the Makki ki roti by cooking gently, apply ghee on both sides, and cook as required.

    Step 5

    Serve hot along with Sarson ka saag, safed makkhan, and achar.[optional]
